TC Weekend Style Events—June 7–9

This weekend is a busy one for shoppers and style-setters in the Twin Cities, so let’s get started:

For the Hipster
For the hippest of Twin Cities fashionistas, runway meets rock and roll at the eighth annual MNFashion Voltage show. Bringing together style and music in a revamped format, the event features four local bands and highlights the work of sixteen Twin Cities fashion designers, all in the iconic First Avenue mainroom.
Saturday, June 8. 7 p.m.
First Avenue, 701 1st Ave. N., Mpls., 612-338-8388

For the Chef
Score quality kitchenwear on the cheap at the Cooks of Crocus Hill Annual Garage Sale this weekend, where culinary toys will be up to 80% off.  Scour stacks of merchandise behind the St. Paul store and finally find that food processor, cookie sheet, or ice cream maker you’ve been dying to get your hands on. But bear in mind that it’s a garage sale, and there are rules: no holds, no fights, and no returns.
9 a.m.–5 p.m. (today and Saturday), 9 a.m.–4 p.m. (Sunday)
Cooks of Crocus Hill, 877 Grand Ave., St. Paul, 651-228-1333

For the Humanitarian
Fashion and charity team up at the taj modé 2013 Runway Fashion Show, hosted by taj salon & spa. Proceeds from the fundraiser will go to the Pay It Forward Foundation, which helps patients pay medical bills while undergoing treatment for women’s cancers. In addition to the fashion show, there will be live music, swag bags, and a silent auction. Tickets may be purchased in advance or at the door.
Saturday, June 8. 6–10 p.m.
taj salon & spa, 9744 Schreiber Terrace, Brooklyn Park, 763-416-7775

For the Girly Girl
After her store was a casualty of the devastating Heidi’s fire in 2010, Stacey Johnson revamped her jewelry business into the full-fledged, locally sourced Statement Boutique in the Warehouse District, and it’s time to celebrate a successful first year. This weekend’s anniversary sale will feature store-wide discounts on everything from the shop’s bright, feminine apparel to Johnson’s jewelry.
Thursday, June 6–Saturday, June 8. 10 a.m.–6:30 p.m.
212 3rd Ave. N., Mpls.

For the Trendsetter
Celebrate the launch of Ship & Shape’s brand-new summer collection at the Mille studio (formerly Pretty Mommy—same owner, new branding) with a weekend pop-up shop. New apparel, art, and home goods will pair alongside live music and cocktails to kick off the collection—as well as the summer, we hope.
Saturday, June 8–Sunday, June 9
6–9 p.m. (Saturday), 12–5 p.m. (Sunday)
Mille, 316 W. 48th St., Mpls.
