The Best Fall Shopping Starts Now

Let me be clear: I don’t even want to THINK about fall. This weekend’s chilly weather was enough to send me into a panic. The only fall thing that I’m willing to make an exception for is Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale, which is going on now through August 2. For two weeks, select men’s women’s, and children’s fall merchandise is temporarily marked down—typically about 30 perecent. After the sale it all goes back to full price. At first it might feel completely uncomfortable to buy boots in July, but trust me: when you find brand-new, on-trend, paid-for pair in your closet come September, you’ll thank me. As soon as I get the catalog, I dog-ear everything that I want, then order what I absolutely know I’ll still love come fall. Here’s what’s on my list:

Steven by Steven Madden Intyce Boot ($130)
Is this the perfect boot or what? Casual, comfortably stacked heel, and the shade of brown that looks good with everything. Note: This is Steven’s luxury label, so the leather is going to be super supple, not cheap like you might expect.

Nordstrom Chain Strap Glazed Leather Hobo ($130)
I’m eyeing the deep teal to wear with this season’s black and grays. I’m hoping it’s as roomy and slouchy as it looks. What a steal!

Diane von Furstenberg Alejetta Ponte Knit Dress
($219)
You can bet this is going to be flattering, and that color! Exactly what my neutral wardrobe needs.

Gibson Sequined Crop Jacket ($120)
A stylist friend of mine scooped this up and though I never would’ve picked it out, I love how it drapes and would balance out a pair of skinny jeans or pants.

Essie Fall Mini 4-Pack
($17)
I’m totally intrigued by these melancholy shades for open-toe pumps. I’ll wear the neon pink now to bring out my fake tan.
