Think Pink

I love the color pink. I love what it says about the women who wear it. The right color pink says, “I’m vibrant, bold, and playful.” It’s both adventurous and feminine. It’s a color for women who don’t mind being noticed.

Pink has been on my brain for the past couple of weeks, especially as I was preparing for the Pink Carpet event at Crave last Friday night. The event called for cocktail attire and encouraged wearing pink. Enjoying a bit of a challenge, I decided to opt out of pink dress and incorporate the color in an unexpected and bold way.

As I mentally combed my closet for an outfit to fit the bill, I came up with these two options. The first incorporates fuschia in a minimal, but impactful, way. The second successfully pairs separates together for a twist on the traditional cocktail dress.

Look No. 1: A Pop of Pink
Neutrals create a nice backdrop for small pops of pink. In this case, I’ve paired a lacy mini dress with nude heels, sleek topknot, a bold fuschia lip, and simple fuschia clutch. I love how this NARS shade contrasts against a fair skin tone.

Look No. 2: Lady in Floral
This pink blazer is a versatile alternative to the Little Pink Dress. Pair it with a bold printed skirt, modern strappy sandal, and a sleek clutch for a very current twist on cocktail attire.
