The Turkey native, who came to Minnesota to play with the Thunder in 2002, aimed to please fans of the world’s most widely viewed sporting event—more than 600 million people watched Spain beat the Netherlands in Johannesburg in 2010—with the iconic colors of the most popular teams on the planet. “But lots of girls buying here don’t even know what Manchester United is,” he says. “It’s OK.
