Well hello there!
This weekend is just loaded with art fairs—Powderhorn, Loring, and the annual Uptown. Did you know the Uptown Art Fair was recently named the no. 8 art festival (out of 600) in the nation by Sourcebook? Me neither, but now we all do!
In any case, I thought I’d just preview a couple of my favorite things from the fair this year (besides my local faves Emily Johnson and Britta Kauppila’s work—who I’ve written about before—Emily will be in booth 1102, Britta next door).
First up is Drive-By Bags, by Jeff and Gail Greengard. They’re a fab Minnesotan husband-and-wife team (with senses of humor to match) who create useable, useful, graphic totes and other bags out of recycled billboards. So sturdy and easy to clean. You know your bag will be one of a kind.
The second is someone I hadn’t heard of before, but it’s safe to say that I’m in love. Sarah Richardson’s jewelry is exquisite, but not precious. Love the beautiful, handmade look of these stackable rings.
Happy art fairing!
