Mercy Seat, a uniquely artistic Lutheran church in northeast Minneapolis, has recruited some of the city’s highest-profile indie-rockers (Chris Koza, Ben Kyle, etc.) to compose new musical masses. And this month it’s Holly Newsom’s turn. The grunge-pop songwriter of Zoo Animal has created Resonance Mass, a sparsely elegant meditation on being, and leads the 5 p.m. service.
