While temperatures have yet to drop, fall is technically upon us. With the turn of the season comes the St. Paul Art Collective’s annual Fall Art Crawl, a spectacular showcase of the city’s creativity and talent packed into a single weekend. This year’s event will take place Oct. 4-6, and visitors can find pop-ups, galleries, workshops, performances, and other events in venues across 10 neighborhoods in St. Paul.

Summit-Grand
825 Arts: Stop by this art center to enjoy “A Prairie Homeless Companion,” a show by zAmya Theater Project that depicts small-town life in Minnesota through music, bad jokes, and real stories.
The Grand Hand Gallery: Locally owned gallery specializing in fine American craft and fine art, with a focus on artists from Minnesota and the upper Midwest.
Cathedral Hill
The Milligan Studio: Hosting an open house with snacks, music, fine art, glass bronze, and photography. You might find a few studio dogs hanging around, too.
Virginia Street Church: Browse pottery, glassware, paintings, quilts, drawings, and more from 15 artists, plus live music on-site throughout the weekend.
Como
Art on the Porch: Mixed media artist Cynthia Berg welcomes visitors onto her front porch for a unique open-studio experience.
Goldstein Museum of Design (GMD): Established in 1976, GMD is a research center for the University of Minnesota’s College of Design and the only design museum in the upper Midwest. “Narrative Threads,” an exhibition of embroidered textiles from the Donald Clay Johnson Collection, is currently on display at the Goldstein Gallery.
West Seventh
Friedli Gallery and Studio: An inclusive gallery and community space featuring guest artists and special exhibition “Surviving Silver,” a collection of antique silver plate collodion photography by Kary Janousek.
Schmidt Artist Lofts: Enjoy the works of over 70 local artists and bites from nearby food trucks, plus live music by Sounds of Schmidt, which includes many resident musicians. Head to the rooftop to watch Open Palette, a series of live “spectator art” demonstrations—functioning like an open mic for visual artists, a new piece of art is created every hour. In the Atrium, visitors will find a series of works by Art from the Inside, a nonprofit that works to give incarcerated artists a visual voice.
Downtown
Gambit Brewing Co.: The works of seven artists will be on display, plus live music and stand-up comedy.
West Side
F-O-K Studios: Head to the third-floor gallery for the premiere of “All Art Tells a Story,” an exhibition featuring the work of over 50 artists.
Little Mekong Cultural District
XIA Gallery & Cafe: FIRE Open Mic on Friday, Oct. 4, will feature a diverse range of performances from local Asian-American artists. Stick around and explore the gallery/gift shop, a creative space dedicated to supporting Asian and BIPOC artist and makers.
Merriam Park
Spatial Effects Gallery: With a focus on Minnesota artists, this gallery features furniture by Third Street Studios, as well as paintings, sculptures, photography, and other works from over 15 local artists.
Payne-Phalen
ArT @ 967 Payne: Explore the Solidarity Street Gallery in the indoor and outdoor spaces at ArT @ 967 Payne. A truly immersive experience, the displays will extend past the indoor gallery to a walkable, outdoor “Street Gallery”—works will be housed in storefront windows of businesses along five blocks of the Payne Avenue business corridor. Live music and poetry readings at select sites will complement the experience.
Raymond Station
Dow Art Gallery & Framing: In addition to over 35 artists on display, the gallery is hosting “Cabin Art,” a show featuring a diverse array of works that celebrate cabin life in northern Minnesota.
Little Brick Box: Nature- and fantasy-inspired mixed media fine art, taxidermy, accessories, and gifts by Jana Rose Arts.
Lowertown
Minnesota Museum of American Art: Exhibitions “Hilo de Sangre (Thread of Blood)” and “Together” will be open to the public. “Hilo de Sangre (Thread of Blood)” brings together 15 Latine visual artists to consider blood as it relates to culture, ancestry, heritage, immigration, gender, and other themes; “Together” is a mixed media exhibition featuring 10 Minnesotan artist families.
Northern Light Art Studio: Browse 10 vendor tables with paintings, ceramics, hand-blown glass, and more on display. Watch live art demonstrations and tap into your own creativity with a ceramic mini workshop.
Union Depot: 30 participating artists, including local painters, photographers, jewelry designers, and other artisans, will display their creations in Union Depot. Bring the little ones along to the coloring station and keep an eye out for giveaways throughout the weekend.
