15th Annual Cinco de Mayo Family Run/Walk 5k
April 21 @ 8:00 am - May 1 @ 5:00 pm$12 – $35
From wherever you are, YOU can help fight global poverty! Run, walk, bike, stretch, dance – this is a fun way to encourage your family to stay active while supporting the children of NPH!
NPH USA transforms the lives of vulnerable children in Latin America and the Caribbean by supporting the homes, health services and educational programs of Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos (NPH, Spanish for “Our Little Brothers and Sisters”). Together, we help children overcome poverty and become leaders in their own communities.
NPH is fully supporting nearly 3,300 boys and girls in Bolivia, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua and Peru. An additional 2,800 community children receive scholarships, meals, health care and other support. More than 107,000 services were provided through community outreach programs in 2019.
Funding this year’s 5k event will be directed to support a nutrition project for 46 pequeños with high-impact disabilities living at NPH Honduras! This includes reviewing each of the children’s diets with a certified nutritionist and implementing fresh, nutritional smoothies into their daily menus. To learn more about nutrition at all of our NPH homes, visit nphusa.org/nutrition.
All registrations on or before April 12, 2021 include a t-shirt which you will receive in the mail within the week of April 26, 2021.
Make a goal to accomplish an activity of your choice! Anything from a 5k run (or walk) outside on your treadmill to 1,000 jumping jacks or even learning a new dance! You can do a little bit each day or strive to meet your goal all at once – and on Saturday, May 1 at 10:00 a.m. CST, we will have a virtual celebration of all of our efforts!
Share your activity goals and pictures on our Facebook event page!
Use the hashtag #RunforNPH2021 to post your training, preparation, motivation, and completion of your goal!
