
16th Minnesota Cuban Film Festiva

The 16th Annual Minnesota Cuban Film Festival (MCCF) is set for April 30-June 4, 7 p.m., at the Main Theater, 15 SE Main St, Minneapolis. The festival pays tribute to the Cuban’s culture by featuring films that address the achievements and challenges of the Cuban people through the eyes of its filmmakers. The festival highlights diverse and challenging films of social change, human struggle and the boldness of the human spirit. This year’s festival celebrates the life of visionary Cuban film director Tomás Gutiérrez Alea and the rich history of artistic creativity of Cuban filmmakers.
The dates of the screenings are as follows:
• April 30: LA MUJER SALVAJE (Wild Woman) (Fiction)
• May 7: LA ESPERA (The Wait) (Fiction)
• May 14: UNA NOCHE CON LOS ROLLING STONES (A night with the Rolling Stones)
• May 21: FRESA Y CHOCOLATE (Strawberry and Chocolate) (Fiction)
• May 28: BAJO UN SOL PODEROSO (Beneath a Powerful Sun) (Fiction)
• June 4: LOS ZAFIROS – Music from the Edge of Time (Documentary)
A discussion will follow the screening of the films.
