ST. PAUL & EAGAN, MINNESOTA | The Minnesota Scottish Harp Weekend (July 19-21, 2019) is a celebration of Scottish culture including music, food, competition, and friendship.
Friday evening two of Minnesota’s local National Scottish Harp Champions, Chad McAnally and Stephanie Claussen will perform alongside Siobhán Dugan in a free concert of Scottish tunes and songs at the Scottish Fair in Eagan Central Park. Saturday, July 20th, will start off with a Scottish Harp Society of America sanctioned harp competition at the Minnesota Scottish Fair, judged by Sue Richards, an internationally known performer, harp teacher, composer and author with dozens of recorded albums. The competition is open to the public and will conclude with an awards ceremony and a harp petting zoo for anyone that wants to drop by the harp tent and try playing a harp.
The weekend will be topped off with a light brunch on Sunday and free session (music jam) for any musician that would like to try their hand at playing music with new people. Visit https://minnesotascottishharp.org/schedule for the full schedule.
