Bach Society of Minnesota will present an Organ Recital with world-renowned pipe organist Dr. Bálint Karosi Friday, May 2 at 7:00pm at The House of Hope Presbyterian Church in Saint Paul. Dr Karosi will also present a free masterclass hosted by the Twin Cities American Guild of Organists on May 3 at 9:30am at The St. Paul Seminary in Saint Paul.
Dr. Karosi has won numerous international awards and is currently Director of Music at First Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia. While serving as Minister of Music at the First Lutheran Church of Boston, he established a Bach Cantata Vespers and in 2008 founded the church’s successful annual Boston Bach Birthday, which has since developed into the most popular organ-related event in Boston. His recital in Saint Paul will include works by J.S. Bach, Nicolas de Grigny, Robert Schumann, Correa de Arauxo, and his own compositions.
