Andrew Walesch is thrilled to debut his brand-new show at CDT, honoring the legendary Tony Bennett with custom-commissioned arrangements for his 10-piece orchestra.
From childhood, Andrew was captivated by Bennett’s voice and artistry. He studied his phrasing and discography, saw him live 16 times and, in 2017, had an unforgettable dinner with Tony himself after a chance meeting in Manhattan. That conversation—Bennett sharing the story of his career in his own words—became the heart of this show.
With standout vocal and piano chops and a deep connection to the material, Andrew brings Bennett’s music to life in a fresh and heartfelt way. He’s performed on NPR’s Mountain Stage and at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Cabaret Convention, and now he brings this extraordinary tribute to the CDT stage.
