Beethoven’s Sixth

May 18 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Free

East Metro Symphony Orchestra (EMSO) is pleased to present Beethoven’s Sixth, the Pastoral Symphony, on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 2499 North Helen Street, North St. Paul, MN 55109. Admission to this concert is free. Donations in support of the orchestra’s work in the community are always appreciated.

A follow up to last season’s final concert Pastoral, which featured the first movement of Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony No.6, this concert will feature the complete five movements of the Pastoral Symphony. The joyful, energized spirit of the piece is meant to provoke thoughts of the nature, farm life, and the countryside. The concert will also include performances of Gioachino Rossini’s Overture to L’italianan in Algeri; Alexander Borodin’s In the Steppes of Central Asia; and Giovanni Bottesini’s Concerto 2 for Double Bass and Orchestra with a solo performance by EMSO bassist Travis Bruns.

Beethoven’s Sixth is the fourth and final concert in EMSO’s 2024-2025 concert season. For more information, visit EMSO’s website at www.emsorch.org.
