Celebrate the Birthday! Bach Music Workshop and Birthday Concert
March 22 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Free
The masterclass will cover Bach’s keyboard music and the instruments he played. Samples of his music will be played on various instruments including the clavichord and pipe organ, and tips will be given on how to learn Bach’s music and play it on modern instruments such as the piano. The finale of the day will be the 2025 Bach Birthday Community Concert with a variety of his compositions including music from the Anna Magdalena Notebooks and other works by J.S. Bach, his sons, and his contemporaries. Bach gave his wife this second music notebook 300 years ago for her to use for herself and for teaching their children. Today, children still play music from those notebooks. Bach Society is seeking musicians and ensembles of any instrument, any age, and any level of ability to participate in the concert!
