Experience the magic of Ireland with Kickin’ it Irish, a thrilling music and dance production marking its 10-year anniversary. Featuring the choreography of original Riverdance cast member Cormac Ó Sé, the show is a celebration of Ireland’s rich cultural heritage, showcasing the best in Irish music, dance, and song. There are 11 performances taking place at the Celtic Junction Arts Center in St. Paul between March 4th and March 17th making it the perfect St. Patrick’s Day festivity.
Kickin’ it Irish showcases a talented group of musicians, each bringing their unique style to the stage. Dublin-born Cormac Ó Sé, a dynamic accordion player, and Séan O’Brien on piano/accordion set the pace together with their intricate melodies. Aidín Ní Shé, Midwest Fleadh champion in English and Irish song, captivates the audience with her expressive voice. Todd Menton, a multi-instrumentalist and lead singer of the renowned band Boiled in Lead, adds a rock edge to traditional Irish tunes. Fiddler Mary Vanorny of Brass Lassie and string player Brian Miller of the acclaimed band Bua, round out the lineup. This remarkable group of musicians will have you tapping your feet and humming along.
The O’Shea Irish Dance school contributes championship-level competitive Irish step dancers to the show. With their largest cast to date, the group includes regional, national, and world competitors who stun with their skill and athleticism. The performers bring high energy and powerful movement to the stage, enthralling audiences with their intricate footwork. Performing this year are ’22’s Oireachtas Senior Ceili Champions, and no less than four of OID’s regional solo champions. Whether you’re a fan of step dance or just looking for an exciting St. Patrick’s Day celebration, the Kickin’ It Irish Dancers are not to be missed.
