Mending 101 with Curiosity Studio

April 24 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Free

This Earth Day, consider the items in your closet and how they shape our planet. Textile waste presents problems for our local Minnesota community and beyond- so let’s help our clothes last longer! Learn tips and stitches that you can practice for your woven garments at home or bring questions about your beloved garments in need of repair. Demonstrations will take place at the top of each hour (6:00 pm and 7:00 pm) with the time in-between available for practice and consultation.

Participants are welcome to bring a garment from home to receive specific consultation. Demonstrations will introduce individuals to the stitches through making a patch that participants can bring home to serve as a reminder of the stitch types for mending to come.

Free Minnesota History Center admission and parking is available every Thursday from 4-8 pm. The drop-in mending workshop will take place on the 3rd floor from 6:00-7:30 pm. Feel free to drop in for the entire workshop, or for as little as fifteen minutes. Learn more about Curiosity Studio at https://curiositystudioclass.com/.

Support for this program has been provided by the Marney and Conley Brooks Fund.
