Old Cedar Avenue Bridge Celebration

Please join us for a free event to celebrate of the renovation of the Old Cedar Avenue Bridge and Trailhead area improvements!
*Remarks from Mayor Busse at 2 PM.
*Free food meal tickets, cupcakes from Queen of Cakes, posters (featuring an image of “New Old Cedar Ave Bridge” by Eric Cornett), and a youth fishing pole (while supplies last).
*Food trucks: Free food meal tickets for Taco Taxi with chicken, beef and vegetarian options. Sandy’s Grill & Italian Ice and Philicious Phillys will be onsite as well.
*Music from Ecuador Manta from 1 – 3 p.m., and from Dred I Dread from 4 – 6 p.m.
*Free kids’ activities including archery and a scavenger hunt.
*The Urban Bird Collective will have scopes and binoculars on hand for bird watching on the bridge from 2 – 4 p.m.
*Learn about the League of Women Voters and Commuter Services.
*Check out the augmented reality tour on the bridge from artists Adam Davis-McGee and Nancy Musinguzi, the Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge nature play area, and animal cutout-murals by artist Rock Martinez.
Parking & Transportation
There will be no parking available at the event location during the main event, please bike to the event or use plentiful, free parking at the Refuge Visitor Center and take a shuttle to the event. A limited number of accessible parking spaces will be reserved at the event location.
Park and Shuttle location: Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center at 3815 American Blvd E, Bloomington. Masks required on the shuttles. Two shuttles will run approximately every 15 minutes from 12:30 – 6 :30 PM. One shuttle is ADA compliant, wheelchairs and strollers accommodated.
Bike racks will be available at the event. The Nokomis – Minnesota River Regional Trail is nearby.
