Scarborough Fair to Host Hats, Horses & High Tea Event

March 29 @ 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Free

Falcon Heights, Minn (February 27, 2025) – Katheryn Menaged has opened her longtime successful fashion boutique, Scarborough Fair, in a new, larger location in Falcon Heights and is excited to bring back her fabulous springtime celebration, Hats, Horses & High Tea, on Saturday, March 29, 2025.

The event is inspired by an appreciation for the art of hat making (millinery) and its rich history of self-expression in the fashion world. Menaged helps her clients find, or order, the perfect hat during this celebration.

Scarborough Fair’s wide array of fashions makes this event a perfect chance to find the right look to create a smashing outfit for any event! Dozens of unique hat styles and headgear will be available to choose so everyone can be prepared for outings and parties, celebrating Easter, Mother’s Day, weddings, and the Kentucky Derby!
“I’ve loved hats my whole life. When I opened Scarborough Fair, I determined we would be a destination for unique, creative, and handmade hats so our guests can create a look they feel beautiful wearing,” explains Menaged.

Many of the featured hats are one-of-a-kind, and created by local Minnesota milliner, Karen Morris. The internationally acclaimed designer from Hong Kong has enjoyed her hats worn by celebrities including Rebel Wilson and Nicki Minaj. They’ve been seen around the world at events including the Kentucky Derby and Royal Ascot and allowed her a chance to meet the Queen of England.

Guests will also find hats from another well-known milliner, Cha Cha’s House of Ill Repute from Brooklyn, New York. “I came to learn that the craft of millinery easily flowed from my fingers like enchantment. The hat industry is a community that attracts a certain kooky energy which I find incredibly inspiring,” says Cha Cha. Past clients include Brittany Spears, Justin Timberlake, Alicia Keys, and Christina Aguilera.

The event also gives guests the chance to support the Northrop Centennial Commissions program, which was created to provide support for new works, elevate artists across the country, and work collaboratively with companies and artists to amplify their work for years to come. It will culminate during Northrop’s centennial anniversary in 2029. A portion of the proceeds from Hats, Horses & High Tea will benefit Northrop Centennial Commissions.

Northrop, on the University of Minnesota Twin Cities campus, has served as the U of M’s primary gathering place for the performing arts, world-renowned dance performances, concerts, academic ceremonies, and major civic events for nearly 100 years.
