Sensory Friendly (Train) Day: James J. Hill House

Sensory Friendly Days are events designated for visitors with autism. Museum galleries will be closed to the general public allowing visitors to enjoy the museum activities modified with neurodiversity in mind (examples: low volume for all media shows, and signs with explanations of activities).

Participants can enjoy early access to some of the hands-on activities designed specifically for Train Day, including:

Drawing and poetry workshop by Pat Bauer and David Geister (author and illustrator of Making Minnesota) at 9:30 am

Button (badge) making station featuring the Great Northern Railway logo and other train-related graphics!

Train-themed selfie station

Build Your Own Railroad! Toy Trains Play Area
