Student Matinee: WITNESS: Eyes Still on the Prize II
February 20, 2026 @ 10:15 am - 11:15 am

Recommended for Grades 3-12.
To “keep your eyes on the prize” means to determine what is important and to muster up the courage to take action towards making the vision a reality. VocalEssence WITNESS: Eyes Still On the Prize II introduces us to three Minnesota women—Dr. Reatha Clark King, Dr. Josie Robinson Johnson, and Rose McGee—who continue to make a positive impact on our society as they speak out about and stand up for change. As you learn more about them and their life’s work, we hope each of you is inspired to consider: What is the prize that your eyes are on? What issues or causes are you willing to work and stand up for to make our society a better place?
This year’s program will again feature the talented young people of Singers Of This Age, alongside magnetic WITNESS Teaching Artists, guest artists, and members of the VocalEssence Chorus.
Reservations for in-person tickets to Student Matinee: WITNESS: Eyes Still On the Prize II Young People’s Concert can be made on the VocalEssence WITNESS School Program website. Livestream and on-demand access can be reserved on Northrop’s K-12 Student Matinees website. If you have additional questions, contact matinees@northrop.umn.edu.
For the VocalEssence WITNESS student matinee, we are offering free tickets instead of bus reimbursement. If you are facing a financial barrier to securing busing for the concert, please email matinees@umn.edu, and we will be happy to work with you on a case-by-case basis to provide some support.
