The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra’s EXPRESS CONCERT: Beethoven, Coleman and Tate
November 8 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
$16 – $36Originally composed to be performed with accompanying images of the American Indian Southwest, Chickasaw classical composer Jerod Tate’s evocative and energetic “Pisachi” (“Reveal”) draws on musical influences from Hopi and Pueblo Indian music. Music by Sandbox Composer-in-Residence Valerie Coleman makes its first appearance of the season in the joyful “Maombi Asante” (“A Prayer of Thanks”) followed by Ludwig van Beethoven’s “Harp” quartet, given its name because of the imitation of a harp produced by the strings plucking their strings.
Express Concerts are performed without intermission. thespco.org/express
