Join the Twin Cities Flamenco Collective for an electrifying evening of Flamenco! Feel the passion and artistry come to life through mesmerizing dance, soulful music, and dynamic percussion. This special event features the Twin Cities’ top Flamenco performers alongside a guest singer from Miami, José Cortés, blending tradition and innovation for an unforgettable night.
José Cortés was born in the south of France into a gitano family from Almería, Spain. At the age of ten, José began his career in Jerez de la Frontera where he won the “premio del joven aficionado del cante flamenco,” accompanied on guitar by Terremoto hijo. He was immersed in the world of flamenco with the greatest artists, such as Terremoto, Pansequito, Camarón de la Isla, Moraito Chico and Tomatito. He has shared the stage with some of the best Flamenco artists such as Belen Lopez, Alfonso Losa, and Manuel de la Malena to name a few. He recently played a leading role in “Llantos 1492” by Adam del Monte premiered by Opera Southwest.
