When the last glaciers turned Minnesota into a land of 10,000 lakes, they left behind soil that captured seeds blowing in the winds. Those seeds included what we today call native flowering forbs. Native plants co-exist with the pollinators they support. But they also ensure that we humans enjoy a varied food supply that would not exist without pollination. Learn how you can provide food and habitat for pollinators in your own backyard.

Bonny became a Master Gardener in 2014, and since then she has enthusiastically spread the word about the beauty, importance and joys of growing native plants here in northern Minnesota. She helped design native rain gardens for a round-about near the entrance of the Itasca County Fairgrounds. She teaches classes for children and adults at various venues in Itasca County.
