Women Composers Performed By The Mill City String Quartet

Celebrate Women’s History Month with the Mill City String Quartet as they showcase remarkable compositions by women in music. Join us for an inspiring concert featuring pianist Benjamin Downs, who will perform two exceptional piano quintets. Experience the stirring sounds of “Piano Quintet No. 1” by Grażyna Bacewicz, the lyrical beauty of “Piano Quintet Op. 67” by Amy Beach, and the innovative “Prospective Dwellers” by Tomeka Reid. This concert promises to be a captivating tribute to the contributions of women composers, and best of all, it’s free to attend!

Come for the Girlhood (It’s complicated) exhibit, then stay for the free program! The performance starts at 2:00 pm in the 3M Auditorium. Registration is recommended, but not required.

Established in 2007, Mill City String Quartet (MCSQ) is an internationally prize-winning chamber ensemble based in the Twin Cities of Minnesota, USA. Current MCSQ members are Huldah Niles (Artistic Director and Violin), Erika Hoogeveen (Violin), Coca Bochonko (Viola), and Rebeccah Parker Downs (Cello).
