FREE Yoga at Lakewood Cemetery EVERY Saturday This Summer
Yoga Reflect Offers a Meditative Guided Yoga Practice in the Most Calming, Nature-Filled, and Awe-Inspiring Sanctuary in the Heart of Minneapolis
WHAT: Yoga Reflect Series from Lakewood Cemetery
Every Saturday this summer, Lakewood welcomes Yoga Sanctuary, a nonprofit studio on the east side of Lake Harriet, for a meditative guided yoga practice on the lawn by the Welcome Center. This beautiful open area, shaded by trees, and surrounded by native plants and pollinator gardens, is the perfect place to enjoy nature in the heart of the city.
All people—brand new and experienced yoga practitioners—will enjoy this meditative practice, promoting strength, flexibility, balance, and clarity in this beautiful and inspiring venue. We will use mindful movement and guided breathing techniques to help settle our thoughts, flowing and holding postures to support the physical body, and rest to connect with the soul. Modifications to ease or intensify poses will be sprinkled throughout the class.
These drop-in yoga sessions happen every Saturday throughout the summer, and you do not need to register or get a ticket.

Water bottle
(Optional) Sunscreen
(Optional) A sheet to put under your yoga mat

About Lakewood — A Place to Remember
Lakewood is a serene haven in the heart of Minneapolis’ renowned Chain of Lakes—a place to come together to honor, remember, and reflect. Since 1871, Lakewood’s 250 acres of urban memorial parkland have served as a community gathering place and a chronicle of our region’s traditions, cultures, and people. A history keeper and a thought leader, Lakewood honors its roots as a landmark cemetery while reimagining its role in modern life through thoughtfully designed events, experiences, and spaces.
Today, Lakewood is making memorialization more relevant, accessible, and inviting for new audiences and generations, with more creativity and choices. As a nonprofit organization governed by a board of trustees, Lakewood is committed to preserving and enhancing its grounds and architectural treasures and uses proceeds generated from activities and events for that purpose.
We invite you to discover and explore Lakewood for yourself.
