The most prestigious local dining awards event in the Twin Cities is the Charlie Awards, held this year on Sunday, November 15. Our greatest restaurateurs, chefs, kitchen staff, servers, suppliers, culinary schools, and diners will come together to celebrate what we all love most: food.
There will be plenty of food at this year’s event. Following the awards at the Pantages Theatre, the Minnesota Monthly after party in the IDS Crystal Court will feature specialty cocktails, and sample-size dishes prepared by students at area culinary schools. Then, the pièce de résistance of the event—the Chefs Dinner.
Dishes from four 2014 Charlie Awards winners will be served at the Chefs Dinner. The chefs will be:
- Kim Bartmann (Bryant Lake Bowl, Red Stag Supperclub, Barbette, Third Bird, and more): Lifetime Achievement
- Vincent Francoual (Vincent A Restaurant): Community Hero
- John Kraus (Patisserie 46): Outstanding Pastry Chef
- Alex Roberts (Brasa and Restaurant Alma): Outstanding Chef
Tickets are available at honorthyfood.com; at the box offices of the State, Orpheum and Pantages theatres; or at any Ticketmaster outlet. The cost for the main show and Minnesota Monthly after party at the IDS Crystal Court is $35 ($25 for industry members). The cost for attending all three events (awards show, Minnesota Monthly after party and Chefs Dinner) is $125, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting Open Arms of Minnesota.
