This year’s Minnesota State Fair is ushering in a new era of fair foods, including many options for health-conscious fair-goers. Two local brands, Deane’s and Prohibition, will serve kombucha on tap, while the Lamb Shoppe in the Food Building will offer a lamb dog with kale and quinoa.
For those who aren’t counting calories, fans of the Minnesota–based canned meat can indulge in SPAM sushi and cheese-flavored SPAM curds. And the Midwest Dairy Association has created a new topping option for their malts: Call It Breakfast. This combination of donuts and coffee- and chocolate-flavored syrups proves that breakfast is the most important (and tastiest) meal of the day.
