Best Wine Pairings

Restaurant recommendations from MnMo food critics Jason DeRusha and Joy Summers:

Jason’s Picks

You can’t beat a smart wine person selecting the pour that makes that perfect bite of food taste even better.

Terzo Wine Bar: The next generation of Italian food from the Broder family: Charlie Broder has the most interesting Italian wines in town—50 by the glass! (50th & Penn, Minneapolis)

Meritage: It’s not just Nicholas Giraud’s French accent that enchants when he talks to you about wine…well, it’s mostly the accent. But his palate also guarantees the ideal food/wine match. (downtown St. Paul)

Joy’s Picks

Wine lists can be intimidating—sometimes purposely! I want a decently priced wine, generous pour, and a food pairing suggestion.

Corner Table: Insiders know that this is often one of the most exciting and interesting wine lists in town. Nick Rancone carefully curates the list to highlight the luscious dishes from Thomas Boemer’s kitchen. (Kingfield, Minneapolis)

Burch Steak and Pizza Bar: The same restaurant houses both a steakhouse and a pizza joint, and the wines available complement all of the dishes. Beautiful bottles can be found here to fit any price range. (Lowry Hill, Minneapolis)
