Borough Will Close After 13 Years as Revival Expands Into the North Loop

Jester Concepts says the beloved Minneapolis restaurant will close in June before the space reopens as Revival

One of the North Loop’s defining restaurants is preparing to close its doors. Jester Concepts announced this week that Borough, the acclaimed Minneapolis restaurant that helped shape the neighborhood’s modern dining scene, will officially close June 28 after more than 13 years in operation. Its final day of service will be June 27.

The space won’t stay empty for long. Following a remodel and reconcept, Jester Concepts plans to reopen the restaurant as Revival, bringing the popular fried chicken and Southern-inspired comfort food concept back to Minneapolis after the company acquired the brand in 2025.

Since opening in 2013, Borough became synonymous with the rise of the North Loop as a dining destination, known for its polished seasonal fare, thoughtful hospitality, and sleek industrial atmosphere. But its impact extended beyond the dining room itself. Over the years, Borough became a launching ground for chefs, bartenders, managers, and hospitality professionals who went on to help shape the broader Twin Cities restaurant scene.

“Borough has meant so much to our company, our team, and the Minneapolis dining community,” said Jester Concepts founder Brent Frederick in a statement. “We are incredibly proud of what Borough represented over the last 13 years and grateful to every guest, employee, and partner who has been part of its story.”

Frederick acknowledged the closure reflects the realities of an evolving restaurant industry, noting that the company must continue adapting to changing guest expectations and long-term sustainability challenges.

The transition will also temporarily impact Parlour Minneapolis, which will close briefly for updates before reopening July 6.

In the coming weeks, Jester Concepts says Borough’s final chapter will include celebrations honoring the restaurant’s legacy, including returning menu favorites, collaborations, and events recognizing the employees and hospitality talent that helped define the space over the past decade.
