We love you, Eat Street—but 13th Avenue NE has become a strong contender for Minneapolis’ hottest culinary destination, with Young Joni, Oro by Nixta, Vinai, and the forthcoming Stargazer cocktail bar all positioned near its intersection with NE Second Street (plus The Anchor Fish & Chips and La Boulangerie Marguerite down the road).
Another new spot is coming to the neighborhood this fall—Minari by Chef Jeff Watson is set to open its doors Nov. 15. After serving as culinary director for Daniel del Prado’s acclaimed portfolio of restaurants, Minari will be Watson’s first solo venture.

The restaurant will feature a contemporary East Asian menu that celebrates Watson’s Korean heritage with a modern twist—guests can expect Korean banchan, larger entrees highlighting grilled specialties and noodles, and Chinese-inspired dim sum served from a roaming cart every evening. Plus, stick around in the bar and lounge after 10 p.m. for a curated late-night menu. Watson was intentional about his commitment to the communal, inclusive spirit of East Asian dining, inviting guests to share a variety of dishes.
The interior will be reimagined by Christen Dean Architects to showcase warm, moody reds and burgundy tones, intended to evoke a nostalgic Chinese ambiance.
