While Minnesota doesn’t have any Michelin-starred restaurants of its own (shockingly), local foodies can get a taste of the experience at Demi’s second annual North Star Series, starting in March.
Throughout 2025, Chef Gavin Kaysen and the Demi team will host three one-night kitchen takeovers by distinctive Michelin-starred restaurants from California and New York City, offering guests a glimpse of the nation’s most renowned dining experiences. Each evening will showcase a tasting menu with beverage pairings at Demi’s U-shaped dining counter, where every seat offers an up-close view of the culinary teams at work.
“The Michelin guide and what it stands for is the top of the mountain in our profession, so to have these chefs here at Demi is a gift to our team and our city. I am honored to have them here,” says Kaysen in a statement.
Here’s a look at the 2025 North Star Series schedule, presented by Steelite:
Friday, March 21: Mister Jiu’s – San Francisco, California (one Michelin star)
Located in the heart of Chinatown, San Francisco, Mister Jiu’s is a contemporary Chinese American restaurant and bar headed by James Beard Award-winning chef Brandon Jew. Friday, June 6: Saga – New York City (two Michelin stars)
Saga is a contemporary fine-dining restaurant in Manhattan’s Financial District, perched on the 63rd floor of an art deco tower and surrounded by a wraparound terrace. Saga’s food is rooted in European technique but draws global inspiration from the flavors of traveling and the diverse cuisine in New York. In the wake of Chef Jamal James Kent’s sudden passing in 2024, Chef Charlie Mitchell was appointed Executive Chef of Saga.
