DeRushaEats: Korean Food In Eagan

I know, you’re as shocked as I was. My family went to a friend’s house in Eagan to watch the Super Bowl, and like all good Americans, we ate Korean take-out.

And to borrow a totally cheesy football phrase: It was a touchdown!

Hoban Restaurant has crowd-pleasing food for people who might be more comfortable with typical Chinese-American fare, but there are some real gems on the menu for the Korean food lover.

I could have eaten the Hot and Spicy Calamari all by myself. It was spicy with a little bit of sweetness. The calamari was fresh and perfectly prepared, and the vegetables tasted like they were just plucked from the garden. It’s all stir fried, so the flavors come together in a wonderful harmony.

Both the regular chicken wings and spicy chicken wings were really good (we had to have something that was appropriate for the Super Bowl), and the kids liked the Mul Man Doo—beef dumplings.

We’d didn’t try them, but I’ve heard great things about the hot pots and the Bidimbap. Those are probably best for dining in at Hoban, which is just off of highway 13 at Silver Bell Road.

Hoban has been open for 15 years (I’m sorry—I live in Maple Grove! I had no idea.) and they claim to have the largest variety of authentic Korean food in Minnesota. We loved it!
