This month’s issue of Minnesota Monthly features the “Foodie 40,” editor Rachel Hutton’s list of must-eats for Minnesota foodies. On this week’s episode of MPR’s Moveable Feast, Rachel and John talk about the list, putting on their fight faces to defend their favorites.
The list features a mix of old and new, with restaurants ranging from south Minneapolis staple Piccolo to the North Loop’s venerable Bachelor Farmer and the new and much-anticipated Spoon and Stable. It also includes Minnesota-made pantry items such as Honeycrisp apples and SPAM, plus State Fair stalwarts such as cheese curds.
And agreed-upon classics include Surly Furious, the craft beer that put Minnesota on the map, the delectable desserts at A Baker’s Wife, and the cheese-oozing Jucy Lucy at Matt’s Bar. To hear Rachel and John’s full discussion, head to the Moveable Feast site.
