Dine on Dough at the Lake Street Dumpling Tour

Expand your doughy horizons

So, we have good news and we have bad news. The good news is you can discover your love for all things dumpling (Asian or otherwise) at the Lake Street Dumpling Tour, with samosas, tortellini, empanadas, pierogis, gyoza, and more on June 2. A $5 ticket picked up at the Midtown Farmer’s Market gets you two free samples, with additional bites costing between $1-4.The bad news is that those tickets are sold out. The Twin Cities culinary scene is always bursting at the seams with activity, whether it be the opening of a new restaurant, one of dozens of food festivals, or the winning of a James Beard award by our prestigious chefs, so it’s no surprise that our foodie community snatched up tickets to this event.

For those with your tickets, you can begin your self-guided tour as early as 11 a.m. with more than a dozen small businesses on the iconic Lake Street in Uptown at places such as Himalayan Restaurant for momos, El Nuevo Rodeo for empanadas, It’s Greek to Me for tiropitas, and Midori’s Floating World Cafe for gyoza. Prizes and entertainment, as well as other drink and food offerings will be available in addition to the dumplings.

Don’t have a ticket? You can join us in crossing our fingers and hoping they’ll bring the Dumpling Tour back again. All of the businesses will still be open for business as usual, so you might still be able to get some dumpling love, just not the same discounts or specials.
