Introducing Dinner du Nord, a brand-new culinary celebration designed to showcase the bold flavors, creative talent, and community spirit of Minneapolis’ restaurant scene. On Thursday, Sept. 11 at 5:30 p.m., seven blocks of Nicollet Mall will transform into a stunning open-air dining experience—complete with America’s longest dinner table, serving more than 2,000 guests.
This landmark event invites diners to sample signature dishes from over 40 local establishments, spanning fine dining to casual food truck fare, all while seated alfresco on the bus-free corridor of Nicollet. Whether you’re craving handmade eggrolls, gourmet gnocchi, or a sizzling steak, Dinner du Nord promises a one-of-a-kind culinary experience with the city skyline as its backdrop.

But Dinner du Nord isn’t just about the food (though there will be plenty of that). It’s a celebration of Minneapolis’ hospitality community—the chefs, servers, restaurateurs, and creatives who power the city’s dining culture—and a chance to rediscover the heart of downtown.
“We’re changing the game on Nicollet Mall,” said Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey at the event’s July 1 kickoff. “Thousands of people, some of the best restaurants in the city, all coming together for one big community meal. Downtown is back and this is just the beginning.”
Guests can browse participating restaurants and purchase prix-fixe meal tickets now at dinnerdunord.com. All-inclusive pricing (tip and tax included) means no surprise fees—just great food, conversation, and atmosphere. There’s something for every budget and palate, with options ranging from street eats to upscale plates.
Participating restaurants span the city’s diverse food scene, including Barbette, Hell’s Kitchen, Rainbow Chinese, OG ZaZa Pizza Trailer, Starling, Fhima’s, Four Seasons Minneapolis, Ruth’s Chris Steak House, The Local, and more. View the full, growing list online.
A portion of the proceeds from the event will support the Help the House Foundation, a nonprofit committed to uplifting hospitality workers through financial assistance, community care, and advocacy. As Angie Whitcomb, President and CEO of Hospitality Minnesota, shared at the launch: “This event is about more than food—it’s about supporting the people who make our dining culture possible.”
