Drink of the Month: Leinie’s Cranberry Ginger Shandy

This refreshing, weiss-style beer cuts through the T-Day carbs

leinenkugel's, cranberry shandy, drink of the month, foodDespite its Wisconsin origins, Leinenkugel’s beer is a Minnesota favorite. And as the seasons change, its fans shift from sipping the lemon-kissed Summer Shandy to its wintry sibling, the Cranberry Ginger Shandy.

Betsy Miller, assistant manager of 1st Grand Avenue Liquors in St. Paul, recommends the weiss-style beer for its crisp, dry, and tart flavor, falling somewhere between a cider and a classic shandy. It’s a refreshingly light drink to pair with a carb-heavy Thanksgiving meal, thanks to the bite from the cranberries (Wisconsin produces more cranberries than any other state, by the way).

The Cranberry Ginger Shandy is available through February. That’s something to be thankful for. • Leinie.com
