Why don’t I visit Midtown Global Market more often? It’s a question I ask myself every time I sink my teeth into a buttery quiche from the Salty Tart, and a question you should definitely ask yourself now that Kitchen in the Market has opened. The brainchild of Tastebud Tart Molly Hermann, one of my favorite caterers/personal chefs, this cooking collective comprises 16 culinary professionals who use the industrial space to cook, teach, and sell their creations. Which means that you can get a glimpse at what goes into some of the best foodstuff in town, then take it go (I highly recommend the pimento cheese and spiced nuts). This is a working kitchen, so the vibe is real and casual and perfect for hosting down-to-earth demos like Perfect Eggs (free) and karaoke cooking classes.
