Ever noticed a cute little farmers market stand while grabbing lunch in the IDS center? Well—that little stand, which happens to be the city’s only year-round locally grown indoor farmer’s market, has set out to make a big difference through its devotion to local non-profits
Each month the IDS center donates 10 percent of the proceeds from its Tuesday farmers market to a local philanthropic organization. This month, they are proud to announce their partnership with Open Arms of Minnesota, a non-profit that delivers healthy meals to people with life threatening illnesses, at no cost.

In addition to donating 10 percent of its proceeds to Open Arms of Minnesota this July, the farmers market will present a culinary demonstration from 2-3 p.m. on Tuesday, July 28 in an effort to bring more customers to the market, and to garner support for victims of a variety of ailments. Local celebrity chefs including Chef Jeremy LaFond from Mission American Kitchen and Bar, and Chef Travis Shaw from Basil’s Restaurant will be crafting artful, healthy dishes from the farmers market’s locally grown produce.
So bring your co-workers and stop by the Crystal Court in the IDS Center next Tuesday to watch the chefs work their magic. Buy some fresh berries or veggies for a delicious mid-afternoon snack, and support the Open Arms of Minnesota’s truly noble cause.
