More than a dozen ideas: food subscriptions, classes, Justin Sutherland spices, plus ways to give back
Justin Sutherland’s Signature Set, featuring rib rub, brisket rub, and more

The clock’s ticking! But Minnesotans can still find amazing holiday gifts to give even this late! Some of my favorites:

Lowry Hill Meats Meat Club

Get a box of meats! Includes 3 lb. fresh butcher cuts (may include beef, lamb, goat & pork), 1 lb. LHM handmade sausages, 1 lb. thick cut bacon, 1 whole bird (poultry offering may vary based on our farmer’s offering) and 1 new exciting item from their kitchen or pantry. 1 month for $80, 3 months for $240

Winnow

I’m a member of Trade, a coffee subscription service, where cool coffees show up at my house every 6 weeks. You can subscribe to the Minnesota coffee version of that for about $17.50/month.

Minnesota Monthly Best of Minnesota Gift Box

$60 gives you $250 worth of amazing local food products plus a two-year subscription to the magazine.

Manny’s Steakhouse

Send a Box of Steaks from Manny’s anywhere in the country. Be someone’s favorite friend. Via Goldbelly and prices vary.

GK at Home

6 cooking classes taught remotely by Chef Gavin Kaysen. Buy the whole winter series of classes as a gift, and save a couple bucks per class. Zoom to buy it at spoonandstable.com.

Justin Sutherland

Chef Justin Sutherland’s signature collection of spices includes rib rub, wing seasoning, and fried chicken dredge! Order individually or get the whole group for $70.

Lake & Irving Old Fashioned Mix with Riedel Glasses

I love the L&I Old Fashioned mix (one of the more underrated bourbon selections in town is their Uptown bar), and I love the Riedel rocks glasses. So obviously I love this combo – you can order at their takeout menu and pick up in time for Christmas. $35.

Brunoise Minnesota Knife Sharpening Subscription

My knives have never been sharper than they have since Sam at Brunoise started taking care of them. He picks up, drops off, and is amazing. Get 4 knives sharpened every three months: $35 for the subscription, or get a gift card for one sharpening.

Restaurant Alma

What don’t they have? Get Margo Roberts’ body lotions and candles (the scents are incredible) or gift a subscription to the January-February-March provisions boxes. $335 for 3 months includes a $50 gift card, too (you can keep it for yourself, I won’t tell). Order it all here.

Marna’s Eatery Spices and Sauces

Find the sauces and seasonings used in this terrific Robbinsdale cafe. $30 for a set of 4, or pick your favorites from their online order form and pick up in downtown.

Nixta Minneapolis Tortillas/Family Meals

I’ve written about my love for these tortillas and the family meals. Get a gift card and change someone’s life.

Ham Sanitizer

Anyone have any ham sanitizer? You said hand sanitizer? I thought you meant ham sanitizer. Bar wizard Nick Kosevich has developed the perfect gag gift for 2020 at MyHamSanitizer.com.
