Luckily, Sameh Wadi, owner and chef of Saffron and World Street Kitchen, just made that task even easier. Milkjam Creamery is the sweet new arrival to the LynLake neighborhood, and its funky flavors like Thai iced tea, passionfruit/hibiscus, and pumpkin brown butter are poised to please even in a competitive ice cream market.
Even better, Wadi’s lactose intolerance has compelled him to make vegan flavors using innovative ingredients like cashew and coconut milks. As if fresh flavors and vegan options weren’t enough, Milkjam will sandwich its ice cream between Glam Doll Donuts and spice up its root beer floats with shots of spirits. Ice cream, donuts, and an afternoon drink? Summer can’t come soon enough.
