Minnesota Farmers' Markets

On this week’s Moveable Feast, Rachel and John shared their favorite local farmers’ markets to frequent for fresh summer produce and locally sourced ingredients. No matter where you are in the Twin Cities, there’s a nearby market for you to visit.

If you find yourself in the heart of the city, stop by the downtown Minneapolis farmers’ market on Thursday afternoon (now located on Hennepin Ave. due to construction on Nicollet Mall) for an extensive selection of in-season fruits and veggies. Or visit the St. Paul market for a similar array of options.

And the notable success of other smaller markets—like Kingfield and Fulton in south Minneapolis—keeps their parking lots full to the brim. New vendors affirm their reputation as great alternative options for better grocery shopping this summer. For those on the go and in need of a quick bite to eat, snag a Bison burger at Chef Shack’s Fulton stand or grab one of Patisserie 46’s pastries at Kingfield.
