There’s no better way to celebrate the arrival of summer than spending time outdoors, taking in the warm rays of sunshine, and cooking your favorite grilled and barbecue eats. To gear up for Minnesota’s favorite time of year, Minnesota Monthly invites you to our 7th annual GrillFest on May 5 and 6.
Kick-off the summer right with an abundance of food vendors, beer and wine, grilling demonstrations, yard games, and more at CHS Field in downtown St. Paul. Your ticket to the 21+ only event includes food, wine, and beer samplings at many of the booths and feature areas.
Munch on tasty samples prepared by local chefs and culinary stars on Big Green Eggs, and pair it with a beer at Minne-Eggapalooza. Then taste your way through Minnesota Monthly‘s third-annual Bernick’s Beer & Burger Battle. Guests will be able to taste and vote for their favorite burger from local restaurants led by famous Twin Cities chefs. Cast your vote for the Bernick’s Berger Champion while enjoying grub from Twin Cities 400 Tavern, Rival House Sporting Parlour, The Saint Paul Grill, Burger Burger, Northwoods Family Grille, and more. Guest judges for the burger battle include, Minnesota Monthly‘s food editors Jason DeRusha and Joy Summers, Instagram Foodie Kim Ly Curry, and journalist/radio personality Todd Walker.
Wash down the burgers and grill samples with GrillFest’s second-annual Bloody Mary Competition. Local Bloody Mary mix companies compete head-to-head for votes from attendees. Sip on samples from Spooky Craft Cocktails, Sportsman’s Redneck Juice, Fast Mary’s Bloody Mary Enhancer, and more to vote for the ultimate Bloody Mary.
Learn all the tips and tricks to barbecue like a pro with live demonstrations from nationally-recognized and self-proclaimed “Grillologists” Mad Dog and Merrill at the grilling stage. Get fired up for summer grill-outs with show specials and deals on demo grills and gadgets throughout the weekend. Warners’ Stellian will have experts on-site to showcase some of the best grill brands available and will help attendees find the perfect pairing for their backyard.
