If you’ve ever craved New Haven-style pizza in the Twin Cities, OG ZaZa is a must-visit. This beloved pizza joint is the latest Minnesota eatery to get its moment in the spotlight on “Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives,” with an episode featuring the restaurant that aired last Friday, Feb. 7.
The buzz started last summer when Guy Fieri himself filmed for the show around the Twin Cities, and now, the moment fans have been waiting for is here. OG ZaZa, led by Chef Josh Hedquist—a three-time winner of “Guy’s Grocery Games”—will show off their signature multiday fermented dough and delicious New Haven-style pies. (There is even an appearance of several Minnesota Vikings players who jokingly ride off in Fieri’s iconic red convertible.)
The pizza joint joins a list of six Twin Cities restaurants appearing this season on “Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives,” including favorites like StepChld, Hai Hai, and Union Hmong Kitchen. Hedquist also appeared on Food Network’s “Chopped: Name Your Price” in late January,
OG ZaZa has three metro locations to great acclaim (the most recent is inside St. Paul’s King Coil Spirits) and a food truck with a residency at HeadFlyer Brewing. Read our review here from last fall.
