Robb Jones' Mango Masala Situation Recipe


Mango Masala Situation

Makes 1 serving


3 oz. dry sake
1 oz. Cocchi Americano
4 oz. mango purée
3/4 oz. lime juice
3/4 oz. brown sugar masala syrup
3 big dashes chili “tincture”

Combine ingredients with ice and shake, roll into pint glass.

Garnish with fun

*For masala syrup

Add 4 Tbsp. of Spice Trail garam masala to a dry saucepan and heat until fragrant.

Add 1 c. water and bring to a simmer.

Add 1 c. brown sugar and stir until sugar is fully incorporated.

Remove from heat and let cool before using.  Straining is ok, but not necessary.

*For chili “tincture”

1 high-Scoville chili pepper, sliced

1 c. cheap reposado tequila.

Combine in a sealed mason jar and shake violently.  Let rest for an hour and shake even more violently.  Strain and bottle.
