Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community Launches New Catering Service

Native Harvest Catering serves farm-to-table dishes utilizing ingredients native to the region

Next time you’re looking to cater a special event or workplace meeting, skip the pizza and try something different: the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community’s (SMSC) new service, Native Harvest Catering.

The SMSC-owned and -operated service brings signature farm-to-table meals to clients in the Twin Cities metro. Inspired by the vibrant flavors of the region, the menu utilizes locally sourced and responsibly grown ingredients—from wild rice bowls and squash to trout, walleye, bison, and more. There’s also a Belgian waffle bar, pasta, build-your-own nachos, soups, and desserts.

“Native Harvest Catering is born out of our core Dakota value of good stewardship of the Earth,” said SMSC Vice-Chairwoman Natasha Hacker. “These meaningful meals are the perfect addition to any event, and we are excited to share dishes inspired by our homelands with our neighbors across the metro.”

The service can accommodate a range of event sizes, from 20 to 500 guests, and specializes in drop-off meals, lunch boxes and buffet-style catering for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
