Local restaurant group Kaskaid Hospitality has unveiled details for a new restaurant that will occupy the former Butcher & the Boar space. It will be called the Butcher’s Tale, and it’s expected to open in downtown Minneapolis this May. Former Butcher & the Boar manager Chad Waldon (Manny’s Steakhouse) is on board for the venture, and B&tB veteran chef Peter Botcher will lead the kitchen.
“I am thrilled to be back home in what I consider ‘my OG kitchen’,” said Botcher in a press release. “We’ve put together a menu that improves on the traditional favorites I created— including sausages, smoked meats, ribs, and charcuterie. Guests will also see more offerings on the menu—more market-fresh seafood, sides and salads. It’s all here, and I couldn’t be more excited.” The menu is also expected to include new items like double-cut pork chops, smoked beef long rib, and grilled oysters, as well as rare whiskeys and bourbons.
The restaurant adds to Kaskaid’s portfolio of 18 restaurants, including Crave and Union Rooftop. “We are honored to re-open this much-loved space and bring so many of the original team back,” said Kaskaid Hospitality CEO and founder Kam Talebi in the release. “We believe the real value in the restaurant was committing to and investing in the team, the 1121 Hennepin Avenue location and our reinvigorated menu. The Butcher’s Tale is a new chapter and we’re excited to tell our own story.”
