Stroll along the New Panoway Lakewalk

After 10-plus years of eager planning by the Lake Effect Initiative, Wayzata’s new 1,200-foot-long boardwalk is open to the public. The Panoway Lakewalk stretches across Lake Minnetonka, extending from the Broadway Docks to the Depot Docks, and offers stunning views of the water—perfect for a lakefront stroll.

Attend a Free Concert

Outdoor concerts have a way of encapsulating the feeling of a perfect summer evening. Head to one of Minneapolis’ Music in the Parks concerts to explore some of the city’s best parks and enjoy local music. Lowertown St. Paul hosts a free concert series of their own every Thursday night in the summer, located at Mears Park. It’s a great opportunity to spend quality time with your community, feeling the shared joy of the music.

Picnic at Boom Island Park

Marvel at Minnehaha Falls

Visit the source of inspiration for Henry Wadsworth Longfellow’s poem “The Song of Hiawatha” at Minnehaha Falls. The flowing waterfall surrounded by lush greenery creates an idyllic escape into nature. Enjoy the scenic overlooks and the relaxing sounds of the waterfall, and explore the rest of Minnehaha Regional Park.

If there’s one free outdoor activity Minnesota is good for, it’s hiking.
