I mean, be serious. Look at these beer cans: when I first saw these they made me want to cuddle up with them. Four different warm, toasty, Faribault Mill patterns on the outside of the new Fulton Brewing Winter Warmer Ale.
My wife saw the first image of one of these collab cans on Instagram and immediately sent it to me, wanting to go to the launch party. We all know the importance of collectible, cool designs on beer cans … and this is an instant classic.
There’s a charitable part of this. A year ago, Faribault launched a campaign called “Spread the Warmth,” you buy a bed blanked, they donate a high-quality blanket to nonprofits that are helping young people who are experiencing homelessness. When you buy a four-pack, a portion of the proceeds goes to Spread the Warmth, and in the metro that benefits YouthLink, an amazing non-profit which works with 16-24-year-olds who are unhoused.
“This Winter Warmer Ale is a collaboration of craftsmanship and compassion forged between two Minnesota manufacturers to embrace the dropping thermometer,” says Ryan Petz, Fulton Brewing founder and CEO. What’s the beer taste like? The 7% ABV will warm you a bit, Fulton tells me it’s has subtle malt, some citrus and cherry notes along with a hint of ginger and juniper.
“The holiday season is a celebration of family, traditions, gratitude, and giving,” says Ross Widmoyer, President and CEO of Faribault Mill, “and this collaboration between two local brands with shared values serves as an opportunity to raise awareness for a cause close to our hearts.”
Since November 2022, the Faribault campaign has donated over 10,000 blankets nationwide, far exceeding its goal for year one. Instead of a one-year effort, it’s now a permanent fixture for Faribault Mill. These 4-packs are highly limited but they will be on shelves around the state starting in early December.
Fulton’s doing a launch party at the taproom at 5 p.m. on Dec. 7 with Faribault Mill giveaways, live music, and fresh crowlers to-go.
