There’s no shortage of ways to celebrate the Fourth of July in Minnesota, but few events capture the spirit of the state quite like Taste of Minnesota.

Returning to downtown Minneapolis July 3-4, the free festival will once again transform Nicollet Mall and Washington Avenue into a lively celebration of Minnesota food, music, art, and community. This year’s event is doubling down on local pride, featuring an all-Minnesota music lineup, more than 100 food vendors and makers, family-friendly activities, and the return of the beloved Red, White & Boom! fireworks display.
For many attendees, the food will be the main attraction. Organizers are calling this year’s culinary experience “100 Ways to Taste Minnesota,” bringing together restaurants, food trucks, and small businesses from across the state. Expect everything from classic fair favorites and comfort food to globally inspired dishes that reflect the diversity of Minnesota’s dining scene.

But Taste of Minnesota has evolved far beyond a food festival.
Music fans can spend both days enjoying performances from some of the state’s most recognizable artists, including Bad Bad Hats, Poliça, Dessa, Brother Ali, Ant, NUR-D, Gully Boys, and Dillinger Four. It’s the festival’s first-ever all-Minnesota main stage lineup—a fitting tribute to the local talent that continues to shape the state’s cultural identity.

Throughout the festival grounds, visitors will find plenty of reasons to linger. Stomping Ground aerialists will perform high above the crowds, while Hothouse will host dance classes and live performances designed to get attendees of all ages moving. The Art of Minnesota Makers Market will showcase handmade goods, artwork, apparel, home décor, and products from local artisans and entrepreneurs.
Animal lovers can stop by The Bond Between‘s puppy adoption activation, where adoptable dogs will be available for meet-and-greets, cuddles, and potential forever homes.

Families will also find games, art installations, interactive activities, and community programming scattered throughout the festival footprint, making it easy to spend an entire afternoon—or even the whole weekend—downtown.
One of the most notable aspects of this year’s event is its focus on supporting Minnesota businesses. More than 70% of participating vendors and partners are BIPOC- and women-owned businesses, helping create economic opportunities while showcasing the diversity that defines modern Minnesota.
Getting there is easier than ever, too. Admission is free, and Metro Transit will offer free rides throughout the festival, making it one of the most accessible Fourth of July celebrations in the region.

The weekend culminates at 10 p.m. on July 4 with the return of Red, White & Boom!, lighting up the downtown skyline and providing a fitting finale to two days of food, music, and Minnesota pride.
