Following the end of another long, bitter-cold winter, Minnesotans celebrate by crowding onto rooftop patios, boating on the lakes, watching movies in the park, and hitting the beach (or pool). And we have ample space to do so—between all its lakes, rivers, and streams, Minnesota has more shoreline than California, Hawaii, and Florida combined.

Get ready to make a splash with the season’s newest swimwear, which is full of updated textures, silhouettes, and colors:

Textured details. One of the biggest trends is textured details, such as crocheting, embroidery, mesh, and fringe, which add dimension to simple shapes.

Nautical stripes. Stripes in every width were a staple on spring’s runways, so it’s no surprise to see them show up in swimwear. The classic style gets a spin with neon piping, crisscrossing straps, and crocheted details.

Strappy straps. Intricate straps add visual interest and create flattering lines to otherwise basic styles.

Flower power. The perennial print is as hot as ever this season, from delicate blossoms to bold blooms.

High-waisted styles and one-piece suits. After years of itsy-bitsy-teenie-weenie bikinis, styles that offer more coverage are in. And not only are they a chic option, these suits are flattering on just about every body type.

Saturated colors. Deep shades of olive, rust, and navy are the freshest colors of the summer, and pair well with metallic accessories.

With this season’s eclectic offerings, find the beach-ready look you’ve been dreaming of all winter.
